Congratulations to our FY16 SWE Future Leaders!

The SWE Future Leader (SWEFL) program is meant to provide promising young SWE members with opportunities, information, and encouragement to continue in SWE as an active participant and leader. The program also aims to offer professional development and leadership training for each SWEFL to advance and develop individual leadership styles. After reviewing nominations and candidates’ personal statements, we are pleased to announce our FY16 class:

SWEFL FY16 Announcement, Society of Women Engineers

Our FY16 SWEFLs will partake in the Collegiate Leadership Institute (CLI) at WE15 Annual Conference in Nashville, Tennessee. Post conference, SWEFLs will participate in webinar training throughout the year and work with the SWEFL Coordinator and Coordinator-Elect on their personal and professional goals. Each SWEFL will be a valuable member to her Region Collegiate Team (RCT), collaborating on projects and assignments tailored to the needs of each region and/or section. One goal of the SWEFL program is to offer a pipeline towards region collegiate positions (i.e. Region Collegiate Representative, Region Collegiate Communications Editor, and Region Collegiate Senator) and section leadership. We have demonstrated this success in our FY16 RCT, as 10 members were SWEFLs in previous fiscal years. Overall, the SWEFL program is geared to help these members gain regional and society level SWE exposure. SWEFLs will take back the knowledge they learn throughout the year to their respective section and/or region.

Please join us in congratulating these collegiate members who have distinguished themselves with great SWE leadership and potential.

Thank you,

Nicole Woon

FY16 SWEFL Coordinator
