SWE Magazine Readership Survey Results Are In

We wanted to know what SWE members think about SWE Magazine, so we conducted a readership survey. More than 1200 members took the survey. Fifty-five percent of were professional members, 44% were collegiate. Forty-five percent had been members for one to five years, 26% less than a year.
When we asked why they read the magazine, 43% percent said they read it to learn about the SWE community, 20% for the diversity of voices and viewpoints represented. The majority said they read every issue or most issues, and they spend less than an hour reading it.
When we asked how they read the magazine, 53% said they read the print edition, 27% read the digital edition, and 20% read both. More than half of those reading the digital edition use their laptops or desktop computers. A fifth of those who were surveyed share the magazine with others.

The most popular sections to ready every issue are Features, Career Toolbox, and Specifically SWE. More than 93% rated the magazine’s design and the cover’s design spot on or good. Most say they get rid of the magazine as soon as they read it, but 15% say they never get rid of a SWE Magazine. Aww, thanks!
