FY17 Wow! Innovation Challenge #2 Deadline Extended

Wow!The deadline for the FY17 Wow! Innovation Challenge #2 has been extended to February 15, 2017. The Wow! Innovation Challenge recognizes the innovative outreach techniques being used by SWE sections and MALs. Periodically, a section/MAL will be recognized for a unique, creative approach to a component of outreach. SWE will award a $500 outreach stipend to the winning section/MAL and will share the winning entries with the entire society.

Congratulations to UT SWE for winning SWE’s first FY17 Wow! Innovation Challenge! Watch this video about their unique, innovative approach to developing outreach programs for high school students.

For more inspiration, check out the content submitted by our honorable mentions, Pitt SWE, and SWE at UIUC. Content from other previous winners is also available to view.

SWENext is a great way for girls in grades K-12 to engage with the Society of Women Engineers before they reach college, and a SWE Educator Membership provides resources for K-12 educators to promote STEM careers to their students. How does your section use educator and/or SWENexter perspectives to shape your outreach events? How are they involved in the event planning process and execution of the event? How do you use their perspectives to keep girls engaged while at the event and interested in attending future outreach events with your section?

How to Apply:

Visit the Wow! Innovation Challenge page to apply. Fill out the required information in the form and add your content.
