In preparation for WE17, we asked some of the participants on the Engineering Working Moms Facebook page to let us know what they are most excited about for this years’ conference in Austin:

“What has me the most excited for We17 is reconnecting with my many SWE friends and my SWE network. The last year has brought a lot of changes, primarily having a baby and learning (and solving) the problems that working moms face. My SWE network and fellow engineering working moms have been instrumental to my successful transition back into the workplace. This is also the first extended trip away from my son, and I figure that there is no better place to be and people who will understand!” – Sarah Koenig, CT

“Like a lot of SWE members, I’ve been involved since my freshman year of college. I’ve attended Society conferences over the fifteen-year span, but this year is different for me. This year I will be completing a bucket list item by presenting at the SWE conference! I have crossed over the threshold from needing support, to providing support.  Additionally, I am really excited because my family will be there to support me. My sister, husband, and daughter will also be there to support me as they know how important SWE has been in my life and career. From helping me setup my booth at the college student group fair, to stuffing engineering kit bags, and now to Austin to cheer me on, my family has always been a supporter of SWE and me!” – Felicia Green, AZ
