Flying to Austin
Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (512-530-2242) is located approximately eight miles southeast of downtown. The one way Capital Metro Airport Flyer runs to downtown approximately every 40 minutes. To get from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport to your destination: You can rent a car, take a taxi or limo or ride a bus. Rental car service desks are located in the baggage claim area. All major rental car companies are represented in Austin. Taxis are available outside the baggage claim area. Super Shuttle also has a service desk located in the baggage claim area. Service begins from the lower level outside the baggage claim service.
Taking a Bus
The Greyhound Bus Station (512-458-4463; 916 E Koenig Lane) is located on the north side of town off I-35. To travel downtown, take Metro Bus #7 (Duval). Convenient schedules provide easy access to connecting buses to travel within Austin as well as to other cities in Texas.
The Mega Bus is another great way to travel from surrounding cities such as San Antonio, Houston and Dallas/Fort Worth. Express buses run regularly, 7 days a week. Low-cost fares, comfortable ride, free Wi-Fi and panoramic windows makes this a great option for connecting to major cities across Texas.
Riding a Train
Amtrak Rail offers the Texas Eagle, traveling daily between Chicago and San Antonio, with stops in Austin and Dallas and other major cities.
A valid passport is required for travel into the United States from Mexico, Canada and other international destinations.
You must complete customs and immigration formalities at the first point of arrival in the U.S., whether or not it’s your final destination.
Visa Waiver Program
Travelers coming to the United States for tourism or business for 90 days or less from qualified countries may be eligible to visit the United States without a visa if they meet the visa waiver program requirements. Thirty-six countries currently participate in the Visa Waiver Program. Visit the Department of State for more information.
Uber and Lyft ride-sharing services will be available during WE17. Free mobile apps are available for both services in the iOS App Store and Android Apps on Google Play.
This year, we are expecting record-breaking attendance at the Austin Convention Center, so there will be longer lines than usual at registration, hotel check-in and various events throughout the week. Please be prepared and patient. We also encourage attendees to become familiar with safety and emergency procedures at the Austin Convention Center. WE17 is only a week away and we are looking forward to seeing you there!
