Honna Eichler George is the Senior Manager of Strategic Partnerships for SWE, a role she has held since May of 2017. Honna joined SWE as the Manager of Fund Development in April of 2015. Prior to this role, Honna specialized in developing institutional relationships with private foundations, corporations, and government entities for non-profit organizations based in Chicago. Honna occasionally teaches critical writing courses as an adjunct lecturer for her alma mater, North Park University, where she earned a BA in English Literature. She also earned a Master of Divinity degree from McCormick Theological Seminary, which is located in the Hyde Park neighborhood in Chicago. For fun, Honna likes space exploration, examining weather patterns and eating donuts.

Where do you live…did you grow up in the Chicagoland area?

I’ve lived in Chicago since 2003 and grew up in a small, rural town in Illinois.

Who is your role model and why?

Tom Skilling (WGN Meteorologist), Jim Lovell (NASA Astronaut), and Ruth Bader Ginsburg (Supreme Court Justice). All three are problem-solvers, innovators, and rigorous explorers of their fields.

What is the best piece of professional advice you’ve received?

To listen well to others; to bring solutions and not problems.

What is your favorite place in the world?

New Zealand.

Cubs!!!!!!!!

What is your favorite place to go or area in Chicago?

Hyde Park

What is your favorite thing about your job?

I love working at SWE because the amount of knowledge to acquire in my work is endless.

Where can we find you on the weekends?

At home reading, doing yoga, and spending time with family.
