Fun Facts about Camryn
I’ve been told multiple times that my spirit animal is a dog. Non-animal option is of course Buster from Arrested Development. The emoji with a smirk best captures me.

Where do you live…did you grow up in the Chicagoland area?
I live in the perfect Chicago neighborhood of Buena Park – a fifteen-minute walk from Wrigley Field. I grew up in San Diego.

Who is your role model and why?
My parents! They’re funny, genuine, laid-back, supportive and, as teachers and parents, they do a lot for other people.

What is the best piece of professional advice you’ve received?
A few times I’ve been unsure of myself, my boss has told me to fake it till I make it I guess confidence is key.

What is your favorite hobby?
I try to see a lot of concerts! Chicago is awesome for that. Other than that, I love being outside and running around – riding my bike, running along Lake Michigan, playing soccer. When it’s warm outside I lay in my hammock.

What is your favorite place in the world?
I’m originally from San Diego, and the area I where grew up is a Chaparral grassland. There are these really pretty hills near my house where I like to get lost with my dog.

Do you have any interesting or little-known facts about yourself?
I’m kind of an open book, so I don’t know if there’s anything that my friends don’t know about me.

Favorite band or type of music?
I love jam bands! They’re the coolest to see live, and outdoor concerts are awesome hangouts.

Favorite TV show?
Anything that’s not serious

Favorite movie?
The Royal Tenenbaums

Cubs or Sox?
In college I worked for the Cubs and they kind of grew on me then. Other than that, I like going to baseball games because I like hot dogs.

Do you have a vice?
I love salty food. And sweet food. And all junk food.

First celebrity crush?
Nick from the Backstreet Boys! He was my gateway crush – after that, every boy with long hair.

What is your favorite place to go or area in Chicago?
I’m at Foster beach all the time in the summer, trying to stockpile Vitamin D.

If you could eat one thing the rest of your life what would it be?
Sandwiches

If you could sum up SWE in one word, what would it be?
Powerful

What was the inspiration that made you get into your field?
I think that education is the coolest field because, whether you’re working with kids or adults, you’re helping people make positive transformations. Knowledge and skills are power!

What is your favorite thing about your job?
Getting to be creative when we develop programs

Where can we find you on the weekends?
If it’s warm, in a hammock or at the beach or both.
