SWENexters should apply to win a free trip to WE16. The Society of Women Engineers is exclusively offering members of SWENext from diverse backgrounds (especially African American, Hispanic, and Native American), who are entering their junior and senior years of high school, the opportunity to apply for an all-expense paid trip to SWE's Annual Conference WE16 in Philadelphia, PA. The conference will take place from October 27 – 29, 2016.
The deadline to submit your application is August 31. A legal guardian must be in attendance during the WE16 trip with the SWENexter. All expenses will be covered for both of you. Visit here to learn more and to apply.
Attendees will arrive in Philadelphia on October 27 and be matched with a volunteer to host them while exploring the actual conference. You'll also get the opportunity to attend a workshop for girls and Invent it. Build it., the all-day event for girls, parents and educators that occurs on Saturday, October 29. All students must be accompanied by one adult. Through funding by the National Science Foundation, SWE is able to cover the costs of hotel, airfare, and food while at the WE16 event. Attendees should be prepared to depart on October 30.
