All Together, the blog of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), is now an award-winning blog. SWE and its marketing firm, David James Group, received a Golden Trumpet Award in the nonprofit blog category from the Publicity Club of Chicago (PCC). The All Together team accepted the honor June 1, 2017 at an awards dinner at the Palmer House Hilton in Chicago.
Political Strategist, CNN Commentator, and former advisor to President Barack Obama David Axelrod was the guest speaker and received a lifetime achievement award. The event was the PCC's 58th Annual Golden Trumpet Awards presentation, the most prestigious awards program for public relations professionals in the region. The awards honor distinguished achievement in the planning, creativity and execution of public relations and communications initiatives.
About All Together
All Together covers the activities of SWE and a wide range of stories related to science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). You'll find blog posts about SWE members, advocacy, diversity & inclusion, professional development, K-12 outreach, scholarships, and WE conferences. All Together has the latest information about the programs and initiatives of SWE, its members, sponsors, and partners. It's also a resource for girls interested in pursuing a career in engineering and technology.
Last year's redesign of All Together made navigating the blog user-centered with updated categories at the top of the page and a search bar. The category names are clickable so that users can see all of the recent stories posted on that topic with one click.
The blog has sections for videos, editors picks, and SWE's live Twitter feed. It also encourages sharing with social media links at the top, side and footer of the blog. Each article page has its own social media buttons at the top and a comment section. It’s a fully-responsive website experience, optimized for mobile devices.
At the bottom of the homepage, blog users can submit their email address and subscribe to a monthly email about all of the great content on All Together. There's also a button at the bottom of the homepage for anyone to submit content to the blog.
