UTC Launches its Re-Empower Program to Reignite Careers

United Technologies Corporation (UTC) is excited to announce its new Re-Empower Program designed to reignite careers. After taking a career break to raise children or care for a loved one, returning to work in a technical field can be daunting. That’s why UTC launched its Re-Empower Program as part of the STEM Re-entry Task Force created by the Society of Women Engineers and iRelaunch. Engineering and technology opportunities for this program will be available in several states including Arizona, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Massachusetts, and Vermont.

“We’re always looking for the best talent, innovators and leaders. The Re-Empower Program is about reaching those people in a new way, tapping into their expertise and building upon their careers,” said Dr. J. Michael McQuade, Senior Vice President, Science and Technology. “The first cohort will be dedicated to engineering, digital and tech professionals, building a talent pipeline and enabling us to reach an untapped pool of experienced talent.”

The paid, 16-week session will begin in January 2018 and is open to U.S.-based professionals with at least five years of experience who have taken a voluntary career break for two or more years. Participants will receive mentoring, coaching, and training from across UTC and, based on their performance, they will be eligible for full-time employment upon successful completion of the program.
