Rebecca Wheeler, CMP, Global Program Manager at SWE

Rebecca Wheeler, CMP, is the Global Program Manager of SWE. As a Certified Meeting Professional, Rebecca develops and oversees strategy, budgeting, planning, coordination and vendor management of SWE’s global events in China, Europe, India and South East Asian countries. Rebecca works closely with marketing, membership, program development and members of the board to develop cohesive, strategic plans that drive brand awareness and advance SWE’s mission.

Rebecca has 15 years of event management experience in organizing conferences, meetings, trade shows, destination events and special events for non-profit and for-profit organizations in Asia, the United States and Europe. Rebecca’s experience includes working with Fortune 500 corporations and the world’s leading nonprofit organizations such as the Clinton Global Initiative, Beijing Olympics, and World Expo in China. Rebecca was born in Hong Kong and moved to the U.S. for graduate school. Fluent in English and Chinese, she is a great communicator who blends effortlessly between cultures.

Where do you live?
I live in Chicago, but I grew up in Hong Kong. I love both Chicago and Hong Kong because both are highly-diverse and international cities.

Cubs or Sox?
Cubs. Who can beat the icy treats in Cubs hats and Chicago hot dogs at Wrigley Field?!

What is your favorite hobby?
I love all kinds of water sports like sailing, water skiing, and kayaking. I am also a big fan of the TV show Ninja Warrior.

Celebrity crush?
Jimmy Fallon.

If you could eat one thing the rest of your life what would it be?
Noodle soup. That is the best comfort food in the world!

If you could sum up SWE in one word, what would it be?

Definitely not in the house.
