Sophie Grugier, the closing keynote speaker at WE Local Europe in Prague, is the Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Schneider Electric’s Global Supply Chain. She joined the company in 1990. For the first twenty years of her career at Schneider Electric, she worked and diversified her technical expertise in various industrial entities of the group. In 2004, she was promoted to the role of Plant Manager.
In 2008, she joined the Global Supply Chain’s Human Resources team as Vice President of Human Resources for the Global Purchasing function. Two years ago, Grugier was promoted to Senior Vice President, Human Resources for Schneider Electric’s Global Supply Chain. In her current role as SVP, Human Resources, she is responsible for over 50,000 supply chain professionals. These employees work in the company’s business units, supply chain regions and central functions.
Grugier and her team work to ensure that Schneider Electric’s Global Supply Chain employees enjoy the best working conditions. They support the employees so that they can effectively execute operations in the countries and regions as well as enable central teams to bring an outsidein perspective to their specific missions and drive for worldclass performance.
Grugier has had opportunities to speak to French students from different levels of education, mainly to encourage women to embrace engineering studies. This year, she presented and shared her personal experience as a woman in engineering at an external conference which was attended by several companies and Muriel Pénicaud, French Minister of Labor.
Grugier studied electronics and graduated from ITII Chatellerault, earning an engineering degree in industrial production and management. She is now based in Schneider Electric’s headquarters in the Paris region.
