Rosalie Kapanga is the Coordinator of Administrative Services at the Society of Women Engineers. Rosalie has a background focused in international relations and political science. Her passion is travel, which is apparent to her previous positions around the world. Prior roles include: Assistant to the Department of Homeland Security in the American Consulate in Lagos, Nigeria, Assistant Community-Liaison Officer at the American Embassy in Accra, Ghana, Communications Intern at Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold, and Corporate Development Analyst at Lundin Mining. She also has an interest in helping disadvantaged communities both in the United States, and around the world. SWE has been has been a great way for her to fulfill these passions, and expand her interests in the non-profit sector.

What is your favorite hobby/hobbies?
I absolutely love to travel. Fun fact – I’ve been to 27 countries and lived in 6 of those.
What is your favorite place in the world?
Kenya. I will never get tired of everything this country has to offer.
Throwing it back to my childhood favorite, Lion King.
Do you have a vice?
Binging bad TV shows.
Heights make me more and more nervous as I get older.
If you could sum up SWE in one word, what would it be?
What is your favorite thing about your job?
I love meeting scholarship recipients at annual conference. They may not know exactly who I am, but I spend so much time looking over their applications and answering their questions, so it’s fun to meet them in person.
Where can we find you on the weekends?
Riding bikes with my Fiancé along the lake or eating Italian Fiesta pizza on my roof deck! For anyone who lives in Chicago, pizza from Italian Fiesta is rumored to be Obama’s Favorite 😊
