Outreach at WE Local
This year, SWE is hosting outreach events in three WE Local cities: Baltimore, St. Louis and Denver. DesignLab will be an educational event focusing on inspiring younger generations to pursue STEM. It will also feature awards ceremonies for two outreach awards opportunities. Spread the word to help our future engineers #BeThatEngineer!
*NEW* SWENext DesignLab Community Engagement Challenge
This outreach challenge is an opportunity for high school students in Baltimore, St. Louis and Denver to work with real engineers and implement a $1,000 engineering project in their local community. Teams will also compete for a chance to win an all expense paid trip to WE19 in Anaheim, CA. Teams must express interest in participating by December 23rd.
If you would like to help these students design their engineering projects by serving as a SWE Advisor, please reach out to email@example.com by December 23rd.
2019 SWENext Community Awards
The SWENext Community Awards recognizes girls in grades 6-12 who are actively interested in STEM and doing something in their community about it (e.g. raising awareness, mentoring students, participating in SWENext, etc.). Three juniors and seniors from the Community Awards applications will be deemed a Community Innovator and receive a mentoring session with a SWE Professional. Encourage future engineers to apply here.
