With over 20 years in the food industry as a chemical engineer, Crea Kitcher’s career has given her the opportunity to work and live all over the world–from her homeland in the UK to Finland, Australia, Thailand, Italy and the US. In this SWE Diverse Podcast episode, SWE president Penny Wirsing speaks to Crea about her background, international experience and current role at the Tropicana plant in Florida. Crea also shares some words of wisdom for women looking to gain international experience in their own careers.
“The most important thing is to do the job you’re doing well. If you’re doing your job really well, it’s your ticket to having some really great conversations with senior leaders around the business about all you can offer. Then be brave; spend time thinking about what’s really important to you in your career. Make sure your network–your manager, your mentor, your H.R. lead–are clear about it too, so that they’ll become advocates for you and what you want to go do moving forward.”
