Over the course of the live event in June, 2019, a small gathering of women executives from the U.S., Canada and India convened for SWE’s Executive Leadership Program — eXXec — in Denver, Colorado.

Learning To Exxcel At Exxec

Created to deliver actionable high-performance strategies for mid- and senior-level executives, the objective of eXXec is to provide a holistic approach to professional development for women executives in engineering in which they have the support and resources to execute their leadership vision.

The program commenced with a Mix-and-Mingle welcome reception on Sunday evening, followed by two days of leadership training from true experts on the topics of ‘Leading Self’ (Rebecca Ghanadan), ‘Leading People’ (Mabel Miguel) and ‘Leading Change’ (Rose Hollister). These sessions helped attendees identify and grow the skills that will make them their truest, strongest leader. To obtain the most out of the program, eXXec attendees were encouraged to engage with the learning process, including multiple pre-assessments (Hogan Learning Assessments), a post-event debrief, and maintaining the peer mentors established during the program.

“The eXXec program was great. A ton of useful information that I can actually use. Interesting speakers that kept me focused. “

“I’m extremely happy with the quality of the speakers, as well as with the extra energy and knowledge the moderator, Jo, brought to the spaces between. I also greatly appreciate that the speakers spent time with us outside of their sessions during lunches and dinners.”

“Hogan assessment was an eye opener. Knowing how change takes place gave me an idea on how I should drive it.”

“The eXXec program was an excellent mix of theory and practice application. The instructors were amazing. Clearly experts in their fields and excellent rapport with the class. Absolutely loved it all! So much to take back and think about.”
