Location: ACC 201

The pace of change in developing new technologies like artificial intelligence and augmented reality is rapid and paving the way for significant shifts in how we communicate, govern, and do business. This fast pace of change often leaves little time to explore and consider the ethical implications of embracing new innovations. As seen in recent years, there are obvious pitfalls when new technologies are not introduced to the marketplace in a responsible manner. This panel will discuss the design of technology as it relates to human rights and ethics. Panelists will focus on how organizations are striving to be socially responsible, the dangers of ignoring free expression, privacy and security, and how new platforms and services have been developed with these considerations in mind.
