WE Local Raleigh Announces 2020 WE Local Keynote Speakers

WE Local Raleigh is proud to announce the lineup for the 2020 WE Local Raleigh conference to be held on Friday, February 21-Saturday, February 22 at the Hilton Raleigh North Hills.

Wake Up, WE Local

As an award-winning storyteller, comedian and author, Kelly Swanson’s wit and powerful stories will be sure to wake up the audience at Wake Up, WE Local on Friday morning. By sharing her personal story and formula for how she has discovered “strategic storytelling,” Kelly is looking to inspire the audience on how to write their own story – that magical place where the art of story meets the business of persuasion. Learn more about Kelly here!

WE Local Power Hour

On Saturday afternoon, join fellow event attendees at the highest attended WE Local event, the WE Local Power Hour. This hour features a buffet lunch along with keynote presentation by Heather Cykoski, Group Vice President of ABB, Inc. As a diversity and inclusion advocate, Heather will not only discuss her career path but how as a parent of five she is changing perspectives, globally.

WE Achieve Raleigh Awards Ceremony

On Saturday evening join Award Recipients, SWE Members and friends and family at the annual WE Achieve Awards Ceremony. This evening will not only recognize individuals and organizations contributing to women in STEM but also will include a sit-down dinner and keynote presentation by Patty Matwijec, Product Line Manager, Distributed Power Infrastructure of Eaton. Admission to the WE Achieve Awards ceremony is $25.00 and may be purchased at the time of registration.

If that’s not enough content, here is a sample of breakout sessions you can also attend at WE Local Raleigh:

  • Not a Dirty Job: Manufacturing Engineering Careers
  • LEVEL UP: Equipping Yourself for Leadership
  • Making Jet Engines: A Day in the Life
  • Not an Average Factory – Accountability through Teaming
  • How It’s Made – A Collaborative Approach

There are over 35 sessions to choose from so I encourage you to view the online agenda as well as downloading the SWE Events mobile app.

Finally, don’t forget to register by Friday, January 10, 2020. You have less than a month to save on registration before the rates increase. If you have additional questions, contact welocal@swe.org. See you in 2020!
