Unfortunately, due to the postponement of four WE Local conferences, many 2020 WE Local award recipients who opted to receive their award at a conference never had the opportunity to be publicly recognized. Therefore, the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) has decided to recognize these individuals and organizations through a series of blog posts that feature the recipient’s achievements—achievements that would have been read aloud as they came to the stage to accept their award and take a photo.
SWE strives to advance and honor the contributions of women at all stages of their careers as well as recognize the successes of their members and individuals who enhance the engineering profession through their contributions to the industry, education and community. The WE Local Awards provide additional opportunities to recognize outstanding SWE members, SWE groups and individuals. WE Local Awards are divided into two categories: Group Awards* and Individual Awards (Professional and Collegiate).
To view the achievements of each of the 2020 WE Local award recipients, select the (postponed) WE Local conference:
- WE Local BuffaloÂ
- WE Local Des Moines
- Global WE Locals (Europe & India)
*”SWE Group” is defined as any group of Collegiate or Professional SWE members that supports the SWE mission. This can include a SWE Section, SWE Affiliate (including community college affiliate groups and sections), Members At Large, Affinity Group, Corporate Employee Resource Group (ERG), or other group of SWE members.
