Amanda just finished her first year as a Western New York SWE member. Last year, she served as a floater for the conference, but she is excited to have a subcommittee to focus on this time around.

Hannah has been involved in SWE since college as a member of the University of New Hampshire section and a member on the WE Local Providence Local Host Committee serving as one of the SWENext Subcommittee Members. She is excited to be back this year for WE Local Buffalo in the marketing subcommittee.

Amanda will be focusing on marketing to attendees and Hannah will be focusing on marketing to organizations.

WE Local Buffalo is Back and Ready to go for the 2021 Conference!

After 2020 WE Local Buffalo had to be postponed, many of our subcommittee members have returned to complete the work started and make it even better. More about our 14 member LHC can be seen below!

We specifically will be spending the next few months reaching out to local companies and networks to spread the word about all there is to do at the conference. Due to our positions on the committee, we’ve learned that there are so many different ways for people to get involved and connect with other professionals in their field. Attendees can tailor their conference to be jam-packed with attending breakout sessions, Saturday in the Career Fair, or anything in between! Our fellow LHC members will be focusing on some of these aspects while keeping what your experience will be in mind.

Being a part of this subcommittee allows us the opportunity to reach out to our community and share all the different types of events, speakers, and opportunities we have planned for the WE Local Buffalo Conference. We look forward to your attendance at 2021 We Local Buffalo where you will be able to spend your time on what matters most to you.

There are steps you can take right now to be fully prepared for the conference in the spring:

  • If you think you will need assistance attending the conference, apply for a Travel Grant by November 30th.
  • If you are interested in speaking at any point during the conference, you can apply to become a speaker and share your expertise with peers.
  • SWE Collegiate Members can apply to participate in the Collegiate Competition for the chance to attend with a complimentary registration and travel stipend to compete in person.
  • Have the chance to be recognized by your peers for your achievements by applying for a WE Local Award.
  • Found out that you have extra free time during your day and would like to earn a discount on the registration fee? Volunteer!
