A #GivingTuesday Donation to SWE Is the Gift That Keeps on Giving

Giving Tuesday—often stylized as #GivingTuesday—is a movement to create an international day of charitable giving to your favorite nonprofit(s) at the beginning of the holiday season. If you plan to donate this Giving Tuesday (December 1, 2020), please consider supporting SWE and the work we are doing to strengthen the lives, careers and futures of women engineers across the globe!

How your donation makes a difference:

As we know, 2020 has been a year unlike any other. The global pandemic has impacted all of us including the Society. But we have responded! We have pivoted and created new programs and services and reinvented others. By supporting SWE, you can make a strong statement about your commitment to our mission. While unrestricted donations allow SWE to give flexibility in responding to new opportunities and new challenges created by the pandemic, programmatic gifts are also important. When you donate, you can choose ‘general contributions,’ or one of the programs listed below. Whether large or small, your contribution will have a positive impact!

K-12 Outreach / SWENext

Help inspire the next generation of women engineers! Your K-12 Outreach / SWENext donation will enable us to expand our outreach efforts, reaching more young girls and helping them identify an engineering identity in themselves. This is especially important during the pandemic when STEM subjects have taken a back seat in remote learning lesson plans.

Scholarships

Financial support makes a world of difference for undergrad and grad students pursuing engineering and technology degrees. Below are just a few examples:

  • General Scholarship Fund
  • Judith Resnik Memorial Scholarship — Endowed
  • Paula Marie Stenzler Memorial Scholarship — Endowed
  • Arminta J. Harness Memorial Scholarship

Annual Conference Registration Grants

Want to help more women attend WE21 in Indianapolis, IN? Consider donating to the Annual Grant Registration program. Your support will enable more collegiate and professional members to attend our annual Conference. Check out this video from some grateful WE19 registration grant recipients!

Professional Development Programs

To ensure SWE members reach their full potential as engineers and leaders, SWE offers a variety of professional development opportunities for live and online learning opportunities in the form of webinars, eLearning courses, podcasts, and our newest addition, SWE’s Mentoring platform with opportunities for mentors and mentees.

Global Programming

Help us empower women everywhere to achieve their full potential in careers as engineers and leaders. With your support, we can reach more women across the globe and expand our international efforts. Our global footprint is continuously growing—help us make that footprint even more impressive!

Diversity and Inclusion

SWE will continue to promote inclusion within our organization and the engineering community. In January, we will be launching Diversity, Equity and Inclusion training for SWE leaders at all levels of the organization across the globe. This will help us advance our goal of being a more inclusive and equitable organization.

Life Member Donation

Support future program funding and become a SWE Life Member! Life membership is available with a donation of $2,000. All funds are kept in a reserve fund by the SWE Endowment Fund Inc. to provide funding for SWE in the future.

SWE Archives

While SWE is always looking toward the future, it is important to remember where we came from and the progress we’ve made. Your donation to the SWE Archives will allow us to dedicate more time and resources to preserving SWE’s historical records, photos, artifacts and more. During WE20, we launched a 2-part virtual tour of our archives.  This a must see for any SWE member!  Follow this link to Part 1 or visit SWE’s YouTube channel.

Support SWE! If you feel that SWE has made a difference in your life, consider paying it forward this #GivingTuesday to help enable our mission.
