SWE Commemorates Juneteenth: Freedom Day

SWE and the African-American Affinity Group Hosts Unique Conversation for the Black & African-American Community to Recognize Juneteenth
Auto Draft -

The event provided a safe space for the Black & African-American community to gather and reflect on how to exist, navigate, and thrive in spaces where you experience aggression. While most of the meeting was kept private to ensure a safe space, a small portion of the event was recorded and will be shared when available.

The event featured Sandra Evers-Manly, who recently retired as the Vice President of Global Corporate Responsibility from the Northrop Grumman Corporation. Evers-Manly is a long-term advocate for SWE and has made significant contributions to the advancement of women and those underrepresented in STEM within the profession. We thank her for her generous contribution of time and wisdom for this conversation!

In the United States, Juneteenth is a federal holiday celebrating the end of slavery.
