The Technical Career Path Affinity Group (AG) was founded in June of 2021 and is focused on supporting women in planning for growth along a technical career path as technical leaders.
The mission of the Technical Career Path AG is to be a guiding light for technical career track growth, working in tandem with SWE committees and other affinity groups. We provide support and networking for SWE members focused on a technical career track.

WE24 Information

Welcome to Our New Technical Career Path AG Co-Lead, Bing Zhang!
Joining Deb Whitis as a co-lead is Bing Zhang. Bing is a research scientist at IBM Almaden Research Center in San Jose, Calif. She grew up in China, and she has been in the United States for almost 10 years. She earned her master’s and Ph.D. from Texas A&M University. Bing is very passionate about efforts aimed at bridging the gender gap in the engineering industry and empowering women to achieve their full potential in the workforce. In her free time, she likes swimming and baking. Thank you, Bing, for your leadership on this committee!
Fellow and CTO Circle Series and Technical Path Coaching Excellence!
The TCP AG would like to personally thank Jenni Veach for her tireless work on the Fellow and CTO Circle Series and Technical Path Coaching Committees over the past years. She has handed off the leadership of these two committees to Saman Ataabadi and Kiran Malik. Her efforts culminated in the creation of a YouTube channel dedicated to the great sessions we’ve had with women technical leaders, as well as coordinated coaching sessions for SWE women who want to pursue a Technical Career Path at our annual meetings.
