2025 Suzanne Jenniches Upward Mobility Award: Guayente Sanmartin

The 2025 Society of Women Engineers Suzanne Jenniches Upward Mobility Award recipient, endowed by Northrop Grumman Corporation, is Guayente Sanmartin, senior vice president and division president for the Commercial Systems and Displays Solutions business at HP Inc.

Sanmartin spoke with Pamela Morison from the SWE Board of Directors about her work in the fascinating world of artificial intelligence for personal computing and the nuances in leading global workplace teams.

2025 Achievement Award: Priti Wanjara, Ph.D.

The 2025 recipient of the Society of Women Engineers Achievement Award is Priti Wanjara, Ph.D., principal research officer for the National Research Council of Canada’s Aerospace Manufacturing Technologies Centre.

She spoke with Karen Chan about her current role leading the only linear friction welding research facility in the country and establishing the STEM mentorship program at NRC.

2025 Distinguished Engineering Educator Award: Marca Lam, Ph.D.; Tsu-Jae Liu, Ph.D.; and Anne Lucietto, Ph.D., F.SWE

The 2025 recipients of the Society of Women Engineers Distinguished Engineering Educator Award are Marca Lam, Ph.D., principal lecturer and undergraduate program director, Rochester Institute of Technology; Tsu-Jae Liu, Ph.D., dean emerita of the College of Engineering, University of California, Berkeley; and Anne Lucietto, Ph.D., F.SWE, associate professor in the School of Engineering Technology, Purdue Polytechnic Institute, Purdue University.

The three awardees spoke with Katy Kao, Ph.D., professor in the department of chemical and materials engineering, San José State University, about their work in engineering education and contributing in their own unique way toward encouraging and inspiring the next generation of women STEM professionals.
