Organized by the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) staff and members, WE Local conferences bring together participants in all stages of their collegiate and professional journey to connect and collaborate through professional development sessions, inspirational speakers, career fairs, networking opportunities, and more.

The first WE Local conference was held in Amsterdam in 2015. Since then, WE Local conferences have been organized annually in different cities across the globe. This year’s events will take place in only seven select cities:

  • Austin, Texas, U.S.: February 20-21
  • Portland, Oregon, U.S.: February 27-28
  • Columbus, Ohio, U.S.: March 13-14
  • Bengaluru, India: April 9-10
  • Dublin, Ireland: April 23-24
  • Campinas, Brazil: August 6-7
  • Pune, India: Check back soon for dates!

What’s a WE Local?

A WE Local conference is a two-day event hosted by SWE, bringing the energy of the annual conference to cities around the world to build conversations, community, and impact locally.

Anywhere from 500-750 attendees take advantage of this opportunity at each city to not only network with their local STEM community, but also engage and interact with industry leaders and companies on-site.

WE Local events offer widespread reach with professionals from other states and cities also in attendance, including SWE members and nonmembers.

Why Partner at a WE Local?

WE Local conferences offer companies access to women and allies in engineering and technology at all career stages. Attendees bring varying years of work experience across numerous disciplines, as well as professional levels — from students to specialists and managers. Connect with top STEM talent, students through senior leaders, and support women and underrepresented groups in engineering

WE Local conferences also present local recruitment opportunities for companies, reducing the need for cross-country travel. Avenues to connect with attendees include a career fair or networking exhibition and educational sessions and workshops, among others. Build brand visibility at these high-impact, mission-driven events and showcase your commitment to the local community.

For additional outreach, keynote sessions and sponsored sessions offer focused visibility to attendees on-site. Sessions are well-attended and facilitate further engagement and interaction with attendees looking to learn more about the organization’s employment opportunities and other offerings.
