SWE Mody University of Science and Technology collaborated with Penumbra, the official public speaking and literary society of Mody University to organize the annual literary fest Alfaaz 3.0 on 24th February 2020. SWE Global Affiliate at Mody University believes in the objective to stimulate women to achieve full potential in careers as engineers and leaders, expand the image of the engineering profession as a positive force in improving the quality of life, demonstrate the value of diversity.
Alfaaz is the open mic event which is organized annually by team Penumbra. The first chapter of Alfaaz was organized in 2017, followed by Alfaaz 2.0 in 2018 and finally Alfaaz 3.0 in 2020. Alfaaz 3.0 was open for all schools at Mody University. The event commenced in the evening and accommodated many forms of literature which included slam poetry, monologue, spoken words, storytelling, stand-up comedy and instrumental narration.
The participation was overwhelming, there was a total of 72 participants. The event was hosted by Ms. Ankita Parihar and Ms. Rajlakshmi Dr. Uma Kumari (from the School of Engineering and Technology) and Dr. Sunita Verma (from School of Business) judged the whole event. Dr. Vinod Maan mentored the whole event. Rajlakshmi (from SET IInd year) secured the first position, Varnika Singh (from SET IIIrd year) secured the second position and Saumya Sharma (from SET IIIrd year) secured the third position. Certificates were awarded to the top 10 participants and the top 3 participants received a cash price.
Overall, Alfaaz 3.0 was a zestful and dynamic event that covered various forms of literature and public speaking in the diversified genre. This event gave the students a wonderful platform to express their thoughts and learn new things from each other.
