5th Annual SWE Event in Brazil a Success

More than 400 people, including professionals and collegiates, attended a successful two-day online event, confirming SWE’s growing impact in Brazil.

The SWE Brazil Annual Event is an important date in the Global Affiliates’ calendars in Brazil and, for the fifth consecutive year, affiliates joined efforts to host a successful event. With sessions covering personal and professional development, networking, technology, and sustainability, the event offered a unique opportunity to create connections and share experiences & knowledge at different career stages. 

Over two days, the online event had 444 attendees, including professionals and collegiate from 120 different companies and 20 educational institutions.

Diversity, equity, and inclusion were topics on the agenda throughout the event and were further highlighted by the inclusion of Brazilian Sign Language interpreters for the entire event. The SWE community in Brazil is honored to promote and spread the mission and the core value of SWE, with a focus on advocating to expand the engineering and technology professions and empower and inspire women to achieve their full potential. This engagement and commitment of SWE members in Brazil is making a growing impact. There has been sustained increase in the number of event participants, the creation of new Global Affiliates in Brazil (11 in total) and the growth of its social media (more than 6,000 Instagram followers!). She has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from UFSM, Brazil and a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from UFRGS, Brazil. Ana is member of SWE since 2012 and has served in different leadership roles in the SWE Rio Grande do Sul Oeste Affiliate.
