SWE Mentor Network is now welcoming all Community College Students!

[social_warfare]

The SWE Mentor Network is a virtual platform that helps facilitate mentoring conversations during 1-2 week cohorts scheduled throughout the year. SWE members at all levels are able to offer mentoring services, receive mentoring, or even act as both a mentor and mentee.

Though the network is typically a SWE members only benefit, for this upcoming cohort from April 17 – 28, 2023 we’re opening participation to all community college students, regardless of member status! Click here to sign up!

Not sure what to expect or how to prepare for a mentoring session? Here are some tips from SWE members:

  • Be intentional about what you want to get out of the experience.
  • Be open and talk to everyone you can. They all have great insight to help, even if they are not in your field.
  • Be prepared with questions to help focus the discussion. You just need a few, and then conversation flows from there.

SWE is dedicated to supporting community college students on a STEM pathway. In addition to opening up the SWE Mentor Network, we recently launched the Community College Affiliate Support and Expansion (CCASE) Program, which provides stipends and free memberships to active Community College Affiliates.
