Honor the 100th anniversary of women winning the right to vote by voting this November. Election Day is Nov. 3, 2020.
The 19th Amendment granting women the right to vote was adopted Aug. 26, 1920. It took 70 years of concerted effort and struggle to achieve this watershed. In the words of suffragist Carrie Chapman Catt: “That vote has been costly. Prize it! The vote is a power, a weapon of offense and defense, a prayer. Understand what it means and what it can do for your country. Use it intelligently, conscientiously, prayerfully.”
