The “Ying Yue Lake Garden” may not be the typical venue for a networking event, but it turned out to be the perfect space for the SWE Wuxi Affiliate last month when they organized an activity that brought together leaders from across their city. The three companies that participated were Cummins Turbo Technology, Cummins Generator Technology, and Wuxi Vane Wheel Engineering.

The event was designed by an expert at a local consulting company to facilitate face-to-face communication among SWE members and friends in a new way. Things kicked off with a hike through the beautiful gardens. The physical exercise helped participants relax, get comfortable, and exchange ideas more easily. This laid the foundation for the open discussion and reception that followed the hike in which participants were encouraged share their personal stories and promoted caring, cooperation, and connection.

Participants continued the discussion over dinner, the final part of the event, where they had lengthy discussions on engaging more organizations in their activities, expanding their SWE community, developing affiliate leaders, and organizing future activities for all of China.
