Pronouns: She/Her

Job/Studies: New product development Engineer at Andersen Windows, and on the leadership team of PRIDE+, the LGBTQ employee resource group.

SWE involvement: Active member in the SWE LGBTQ+ and Allies Affinity Group

What is PRIDE for you: A time to remember and thank those who’ve come before us and fought for the rights we have; and a time to dream of an even better future for ourselves and future generations.

 

Francine Reyes Vega

Pronouns: She/Her/Ella

Job/Studies: Mechanical Engineer at Logistic Services International and Admissions Director for Out for Undergrad Engineering

SWE involvement: Active member since 2013 and currently Co Lead for our LGBTQ+ and Allies AG, and Treasurer for Florida’s First Coast Section. SWE Outstanding Collegiate Member Award in 2018.

What is PRIDE for you: PRIDE is a sense of belonging and freedom to be authentic.  It’s embracing our identity and celebrating our LGBTQ+ community. PRIDE is to advocate for diversity, raising awareness and standing up for equity, while honoring those who came before us.

 


SWE acknowledges that the observation of Pride Month in June is in accordance with a United States tradition and that LGBTQ+ history and culture are celebrated at many different times throughout the year across the globe.
