Working with community partners, corporate sponsors and a team of dedicated volunteers, the SWE Jakarta Affiliate hosted its third ‘For the Love of STEAM’ event to expose more youth and young adults to engineering.

Offering nearly 30 different classes during the one-day event, there were activities for all ages and interests. Activities included

  • Rocket Launcher: participants learned about chemical reactions to launch a rocket
  • Code a Robot: through Makeblock, first-time coders learned how to make a robot
  • Bath Bombs: learning basic elements of science, students created their own fizzy bath bombs
  • Precious Plastic: students created carabiner clips using injection molding and recycled plastic
