We here at SWE HQ are incredibly proud of each and every SWE section (and parent region), as well as the amazing work of the members whose contributions create those unique identities and proud traditions. Without our members and section identities, SWE would not be the amazing, unique organization it is today.
In a new feature starting today we’ll be highlighting some of our amazing sections, discussing recent triumphs, future plans and celebrating our featured section throughout the entire week! To kick off our inaugural feature, we’ll be highlighting SWE Dallas.
SWE Dallas, along with the Southern Methodist University Student Section and the help of the Dallas ISD Stem Department, recently hosted the Design Your World-Stem Conference For Girls event this past March for girls in fourth and fifth grade. The conference educates young women on the STEM industry as a whole, while also encouraging them to seek out exciting career opportunities that fall within those STEM-related means. The event was a great opportunity to educate young minds on what it means to be a woman in STEM and why it’s important to continue to strengthen the legacy of female employees within this workplace.

If you’re interested in contributing to the strategic planning of SWE Dallas activities for FY16, you can join the Officer Transition and FY16 Planning Session on July 25. It’s a SWE new year, which means new connections and new opportunities for you to improve your leadership skills and give back to our community.

The event includes networking with appetizers and drinks, a keynote speech and a Q&A with Dalia Soliman-Powers, vice president of Capital One Auto Finance, Dealer M&A and Data Infrastructure.
