In celebration of International Women’s Day on March 8, 2019, SWE President Penny Wirsing will speak about her experiences as a woman engineer, how skills she has learned outside of the workplace have advanced her career and how women should take risks and embrace failure.
“If you never fail, then you’re probably not trying hard enough,” says Wirsing.
Wirsing is the Environmental Manager for the Torrance Refining Company in California and SWE’s current President. She’s been a member of SWE since she was a college student at Michigan State University.
