SWE Social Media Policy
The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) social media platforms exist for SWE members all over the world to engage with each other and connect about issues and content relating to SWE and women in engineering and technology. But there is an expectation that members and non-members participating in SWE social media and are expected to honor it. Does your Section or SWE group have a social media account? Make sure you know the details of the Brand Use Guidelines and Social Media Policy and be sure to let us know how to find you by emailing email@example.com with your SWE group’s account information.
SWE Affinity Groups (AG) mission is to bring together communities that share similar interests and backgrounds that support the Diversity and Inclusion strategic goals of SWE. The SWE Affinity Groups framework includes Build Community, Professional Development and Member Empowerment.
It’s Goals Are:
- Develop a sense of community in the Affinity Groups fostering an inclusive environment where people discuss experiences in their engineering career, online and offline.
- Provide professional development opportunities enabling and sponsoring leadership experiences, networking and mentorship.
- Empower members through highlighting accomplishments and supporting diversity in the SWE Leadership pipeline, Awards, and Scholarships.
The SWE Affinity Groups are organized into Diversity and Inclusion AGs and Business Interests AGs. Diversity & Inclusion AGs, are focused on the needs of social minority populations and support initiatives tailored to serve these communities. Business Interest Groups AGs, focus is loosely centered around the members’ business environment and career experiences.
