We’re so excited to announce our SWENext Influencer Program!
This blog post outlines how we’re helping STEM students launch their careers by leading SWENext programming and supporting their STEM community through SWENext Clubs.
How Our Influencers Influence
Are you a student that thrives in a group setting?Â
Are you looking for opportunities to get more hands-on, resume-building experience?
If so, you could be a perfect fit for this program!Â
SWE Influencers are STEM-involved student leaders engaged in sharing their knowledge and experience through SHLA across SWE/SWENext media platforms.Â
The SWENext Influencers’ role:
- Build excitement around the programÂ
- Help create a community experience amongst peers
- Uplift and mentor younger students
- Pursue their passions
Students in the program can also be recognized by SWE members, corporate partners, and STEM organizations. Plus, through SWENext Awards, we’re putting the spotlight on students that shine!
Does this sound like a good fit for you or a student you know?
How This Impacts Current SHLA Ambassadors:
SHLA ambassadors will now be known as Influencers, joining a bigger network of peers as we open the program to ages 10-18.
Current ambassadors who opted-in to join the influencer program will be honored for the upcoming year.
Our influencer transition comes with benefits for the current ambassadors.Â
Influencers will have a platform to use their voice, spread awareness, and build lifelong connections.Â
To make sure the program authentically represents its students, we’ll be asking for your help in recruiting and inspiring new students outside of your classroom by participating in events and sharing your best work.
Creating a Lasting Impact
SWENext is continuing our mission over-70-year-mission to build up generations of female leaders. Through this program, we’re preparing students to enter their field with confidence.
And after you graduate high school, the SWE opportunities don’t end!
Current collegiate member Priyanka told us that her favorite part of Purdue University has been her experience in her SWE chapter and “volunteering to plan events like SWEekend, where high school seniors shadow a SWE member for a day.”
Participating as a SWENext influencer helps students demonstrate essential skills early on in their career, leading to an increased chance of crushing interviews and opportunities when they happen.
Over the years, SWE club members have accepted top positions in engineering and technology as leaders, innovators, speakers, and change-makers.Â
Their growth and success continuously inspires us!
Join your local SWE club or apply for the program to be recognized for exceptional work.Â
