What are the overall goals of the SWE Members in Small Businesses Affinity Group?
Our mission is to provide support and networking for SWE members who are employees at small businesses. Furthermore, we want to be a resource for information and feedback of the small business perspective to other SWE committees and groups. In FY22, we changed our Affinity Group’s name to from “Small Business” to “SWE Members in Small Businesses” to distinguish our group from the Entrepreneurs Affinity Group.
Does the SWE Members in Small Businesses Affinity Group have regular meetings? If so, when and how often? What takes place during a typical meeting?
We do not have regular meetings – our main communication with members is through our Facebook group. We hope to have some virtual events to connect in FY23!
How is the SWE Members in Small Businesses Affinity Group working to reach and include new members?
Beyond our current platform on Facebook, this AG connects at the annual conference.
Why is the SWE Members in Small Businesses Affinity Group important to its members?
You might be the only or one of the only SWE members working at your company, so it’s nice to connect with others in the same situation.
