Swapna Tom is the Distinguished Technologist for Enterprise Data and Analytics for various portfolios including Customer Service, Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, Product Quality, Cybersecurity and Global ERP. Her responsibilities include Innovation, leading the future state architecture and roadmap for BI and Analytics to make HP Inc. a data driven enterprise. In her role she drivers Consistent Solution Delivery patterns that helps to turn data into information and to gain insights out of it to deliver business outcome.
Swapna’s 20 years of industry experience with 15 years in Business data warehousing and Analytics across various technologies like SAP BW, SAP HANA, Vertica, Hadoop and Azure and now expanding the benefits of data using Artificial Intelligence and Machine learning techniques. She had led large scale transformations for CRM, ERP, Content management and Cybersecurity and had recently led TERA (Transformation of Enterprise Reporting and Analytics) a 3 year journey at HP. She also contributed towards the mergers and split that HP had undergone while managing and deciding the disposition and architecture for BI assets. With her curiosity and passion she is currently leading the Digital Transformation effort towards Data as an Asset strategy consolidating 400+ BI assets to a Domain based architecture using cloud native technology stack. She is referred to as Data Master by a research institute and has been a speaker at SWE and TDWI.
Swapna is an evangelist for new innovative ideas and had been part of the Design council for SAP and sits in the Advisory board for Microsoft Azure for BI and Analytics. She is part of the HP SWE (Society of Women Engineers) leadership team, Americas Ambassador for Technical Solutions for Women (TSFW), and the Data science Affinity group leadership team. She has a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and holds an MBA . She had been part of the Global delivery organizations like DIGITAL and IBM before joining HP. Swapna loves to learn new technologies and spends time with her husband and 2 kids and is based out of Houston.
