This year marks the Society of Women Engineers’ diamond anniversary!

This momentous achievement calls for celebration, and throughout 2025, the organization is commemorating this milestone in a number of ways — from semi-monthly Voices of SWE videos to a traveling exhibit spotlighting SWE’s legacy of advocacy and gender equality to limited-edition commemorative merchandise and more.

We have come so far since our founding in 1950 and are proud to be the world’s largest advocate and catalyst for change for women in engineering and technology, with 50,000+ members of all genders across the globe. We don’t take for granted that it is this worldwide community, coming together and united under our noble mission, that has made this progress possible and is what will continue to fuel our growth over the next 75 years.

As we celebrate this very special Founder’s Day, we hope you take a moment to reflect on our history and achievements and what they mean to you. Head over to our 75th anniversary page to view our timeline and all the details of our yearlong celebration.

It’s also the perfect time to consider supporting our 75-year legacy by donating to SWE! Your contribution — no matter the size — makes a real difference by supporting scholarships, mentorship programs, and initiatives that empower women in engineering and technology. Help us pave the way for future generations by making a donation today.
