From June 17-19, 2025, the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) Mexico hosted its fourth virtual forum, bringing together voices from across the country under the inspiring theme, “Historias que inspiran: Construyendo el futuro.” This three-day event was more than a conference — it was a celebration of resilience, innovation, and the power of community.

The forum opened with a warm welcome from SWE Fellow Silvia Karlsson, setting the tone for a journey of empowerment. Claudia Guerrero of GE Aerospace introduced newcomers to SWE’s mission and global reach, reminding attendees that they are part of a growing movement to uplift women in STEM.

The first day focused on leadership and communication, featuring a standout panel on empathetic feedback, where leaders from Schneider Electric, Cummins, and SABIC shared strategies for fostering inclusive workplaces. Michelle Monsivais of John Deere closed the day with insights on multicultural leadership, encouraging attendees to lead with authenticity and cultural awareness.

The second day centered on innovation. Lourdes López of Cummins shared her personal journey in manufacturing, inspiring others to embrace challenges with determination. A dynamic talk on artificial intelligence by Diego Fernández (UBA) and Paula Mandraccio (MIT) explored how women’s intuition complements data-driven decision-making, extending collaboration beyond Mexico.

The day concluded with a celebration of SWE Mexico’s growth, led by Aneth Núñez and Andrea Acosta, who invited all participants to become part of the SWE Mexico community.

On the final day, the spotlight turned to the intersection of AI and business. Experts from Corning discussed real-world applications of machine learning and digital transformation. Reyna Escobedo of Rockwell Automation delivered a powerful keynote, “Date el permiso de crecer,” urging women to give themselves permission to grow. The forum wrapped up with a panel on academic empowerment, highlighting the work of SWE university affiliates in shaping the next generation of engineers.

Throughout the event, one message rang clear — when women support each other, incredible things happen. With plans to evolve into a WE Local Mexico event by 2027, SWE Mexico is poised to expand its impact even further.
