In 2019, SWE launched a new partnership initiative in India. The India Corporate Council (ICC) is the primary source for disseminating industry trends, sharing best practices and creating new intervention strategies specifically for the advancement of women in the Indian engineering and technology community. The Council is comprised of organizations with a strong engineering and technology presence in India with the goal of promoting diversity and inclusion in the field.
Led by two co-chairs, Veena BM of Medtronic and Rachna Parashar of Honeywell, the ICC provides a forum for Indian executives to share successful strategies and contribute to the advancement of women in engineering and technology.

The ICC is influential in supporting the WE Local India conference through speaker recommendations and the sponsorship of a scholarship program that provides students and other deserving young women the opportunity to attend the event.
