Hello From Your We Local Raleigh Host Committee!
[social_warfare]

Do you remember when you were a kid and the month of your birthday rolled around? Do you remember feeling like it was already your birthday even though the day itself hadn’t arrived? Well, I suppose you may only have memories like that if your birthday came late in the month like mine… but all of us can surely understand the feeling as WE Local Raleigh is happening THIS MONTH! And surely, you are just as excited as I am!

So how do you need to prepare for this conference? First of all, you should know that WE Local Raleigh is taking place at the Hilton Raleigh North Hills. If you secured your room at the venue, you should know that check-in is at 3:00pm while check-out will be at 12:00pm. Additionally, hotel guests will receive complimentary transfers to and from Raleigh-Durham (RDU) International Airport. If you are looking to explore the area a bit, hotel guests also have complimentary transportation to and from North Hills.

Whether you are a hotel guest or a WE Local Raleigh commuter, there is plenty of parking at the Hilton Raleigh North Hills off of Wake Forest Road, St. Albans Drive, and Benson Drive. Once you get there, the next thing you are going to want to know is where to go.

The site map below shows key rooms for WE Local Raleigh. To register when you arrive, you will want to go the Grand Ballroom Registration area. This is actually a large hallway in front of the grand ballroom rather than a room itself. If you have any questions throughout the conference, this area is also where you will be able to find volunteers who can provide you with some answers although we suggest checking the SWE Events App first.

All keynote sessions and meals will be in the Grand Ballroom, specifically the sections labeled 3-5. Breakout sessions will be in Grand Ballroom 1-2, Capital Ballroom A-C, and in the room labeled 2 next to Lofton’s Corner. The Career Fair will then take place in Capital Ballroom sections E-G. All nursing mothers attending WE Local Raleigh should take note that the room labeled 3 next to the bathroom near the Capital Ballroom is going to be the Mother’s Room. Additionally, the room labeled 5 down that hall is going to be the Speaker Ready Room so that all speakers have a place to prepare.

If you are planning on attending the Career Fair at WE Local Raleigh, you can see a list of some of the companies that will be in attendance online. In preparation for the WE Local Raleigh Career Fair, you should update your resume on careers.swe.org. This will allow companies that you may interact with to have access to your resume. As a reminder, the Career Fair will take place on Saturday, February 22nd from 9am-1pm EST.

Besides noting all of the logistics I just provided, I suggest preparing yourself for WE Local Raleigh by planning out your schedule. There will be a lot going on at once, and if you want to make the most of it, it is important that you prioritize. As previously mentioned, the agenda with locations can be viewed online or via the mobile app. Within the mobile app, you can create your own schedule, favorite particular events, and even take notes for a particular session while you are there. Trust me, using the app and planning your conference is not something you will regret.

That is pretty much all that you need to know as you prepare for this WE Local. I hope that your excitement isn’t paired with any logistical confusion. The Raleigh Local Host Committee and SWE headquarters is excited to welcome you to Raleigh and can’t wait to see you take advantage of all the opportunities that WE Local Raleigh has to offer.

See you soon!
