The Society of Women Engineers Bylaws Committee Has Reviewed Proposed Changes to the Society’s Bylaws -

In accordance with Article XIII – AMENDMENT, these proposed bylaws amendments are being presented to the membership.

The Senate will vote on these changes following the forty-five-day notice period. 

Amendment proposals contain the rationale and pro/con for each change.

Outcome

On March 5, 2022 the electronic ballot by the Senate for S2201: Amend Article IV and V on Vacancies completed with all votes received. The Bylaws amendment was ADOPTED with 21 votes in favor and 0 votes against.

On May 23, 2022 the Senate voted on Bylaws Amendment S2202: Article IX, Section 4. E Committees to update Nominating Committee membership eligibility.  The Bylaws amendment FAILED with 9 votes in favor and 7 votes against.

On May 23, 2022 the Senate voted on Bylaws Amendment S2203: Amend Article IX – Committees for General Organization Changes.  The Bylaws amendment was ADOPTED with 17 votes in favor and 0 votes against.
