Women in engineering and technology attend SWE’s Annual Conference to accelerate their careers through the networking, best practices, and professional development available at the event. This year, SWE’s tradition of offering unparalleled, customized events for professionals, collegiates, and girls ages K-12 continues at WE15 in Nashville, TN from October 22nd-24th.
While SWE’s Annual Conferences are always well-attended, there are many SWE members who are not able to attend due to limited resources. The Annual Conference can be invaluable to a professional who is re-launching their career or to a recent graduate who is looking for their first job, yet the cost to attend the Annual Conference can be preventative to those who might benefit from it the most.
This year, WE15 attendees have an opportunity to reach out to help other women reach up by donating to help SWE members who would be otherwise unable to attend the Annual Conference. Leading up to WE15, donations will be accepted through the conference registration process. All funds collected will be used to provide registration grants to both professional and collegiate SWE members to attend WE16, in Philadelphia, PA from October 27th – 29th.
The campaign to provide registration grants to SWE Members hinges on the willingness of many to reach out by making micro-donations (of $5 – $25 dollars). Given the high volume of attendees at Annual Conference events and the general generosity of SWE Members, SWE hopes to raise enough to provide several registration grants in the first year of the program.
At WE15, participants can reach out to make a donation by clicking the “Give Back” banner in the WE15 Conference App or by stopping by the SWE Membership Booth. Gifts are also being accepted through the SWE Membership Portal. To learn more, visit the WE16 Registration Grants page on the WE15 conference website.
